A KEY ARTERIAL IN BILLINGS, MONTANA
Sanderson Stewart was selected as the prime consultant to complete the design for a Montana Department of Transportation-administered project that reconstructed 2.8 miles of a principal arterial street; Bench Boulevard, in Billings, Montana.
SANDERSON STEWART ASSISTED WITH RIGHT-OF-WAY NEGOTIATION FOR
APPROXIMATELY 150 LANDOWNERS THROUGHOUT THE CORRIDOR
The improvements extend along Bench Boulevard from Lincoln Lane north through the intersection of Bench Boulevard with Hwy 312 and US 87. The reconstruction of the existing two-lane roadway includes two driving lanes, a center Two-Way Left Turn Lane (TWLTL), curb and gutter, sidewalk, new storm drainage system, school zone improvements, various intersection improvements, intermittent on-street parking, and street lighting. The Bench Blvd/Hilltop Road intersection was reconstructed as a roundabout and the Bench Blvd/Hwy 312/US 87 intersection was signalized. Acquisition of significant new right-of-way and relocation of some utilities was also required. In addition to design, Sanderson Stewart completed all the land surveying and prepared certificates of survey.
