A Streetscape Like No Other in Billings, Montana

Copper Ridge is a “coved” residential subdivision design in northwest Billings, Montana. Situated on 97 acres of sloping topography below the rimrocks, there are 338 single family lots situated with careful consideration of their views; no home faces another directly. Streets use a winding technique instead of gridded patterns and flow with the topography, which results in a substantial reduction in the lineal feet of street. Back yards are hidden from passing traffic. With fewer intersections, added green space is available. Large front yard “coves” alternate from one side of the street to the other, resulting in a residential streetscape that appears park-like. This new design concept yields an increase in density with all lots having an increase in value and yields a superior neighborhood with added character.
