FOCUSED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR NORTH 7TH AVENUE, BOZEMAN, MT
The Midtown Urban Renewal District is actively working to promote economic development along the North 7th Avenue corridor within Bozeman. Sanderson Stewart, along with A & E Architects, was selected for a three year term contract to assist the District Board and City staff in completing several projects that will aid in the development of the District. Working towards fulfilling one of the District’s goals of providing multi-modal transportation, Sanderson Stewart will begin designing four multi-use paths that will connect with the existing trail system within the District. These trails will be located within existing right-of-way and will allow bicyclists and pedestrians to move through the District away from the busy 7th Avenue corridor.
Additionally, Sanderson Stewart will assist the City in preparing a master plan for the Westlake BMX park, a multiuse park located within the Midtown District. The underutilized park has a variety of existing uses and the master plan will develop a unified plan to complete the park. A design charrette with the Board to develop concepts for a festival street within the District. The festival street will provide a venue for outdoor events, as well as enhance development of adjacent businesses.
